Introduction
What Skillflare is and how assessments work
Skillflare runs skill assessments in virtual desktop environments. Candidates work in a cloud desktop configured for the role; Skillflare records the session and produces evaluation results from that recording.
Who Skillflare is for
- Hiring teams and organizations create challenges, invite candidates and review results in the dashboard. Organizations can manage candidates and sessions via the HTTP API and subscribe to webhooks for session and evaluation events.
- Candidates open an invite link, review the briefing and complete the assessment in the browser-connected desktop.
How an assessment works
- Your organization defines a challenge (briefing, desktop environment, duration).
- You link a candidate and create a session.
- The candidate engages via their invite link; Skillflare provisions the desktop when needed.
- Recording starts when the candidate begins. If they click "I am ready" and do not start within 30 minutes, the session is marked
DROPPED_OUTand is not evaluated. - When a recording stops, it is automatically evaluated and the organization notified.
For programmatic access, create an API key in the dashboard and call https://api.skillflare.co. Start with API getting started and authentication.
